Project Information

Colorado Interstate Gas Company (CIG) will begin construction of the Totem Natural Gas Storage Project in the second quarter of 2008 with an in-service date of June 2009. When complete, the Totem Natural Gas Storage Project will have a total gas inventory of about 10.7 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas, comprised of 7.0 Bcf of working gas and approximately 3.7 Bcf of base gas.

The storage facility will connect with CIG's existing underground pipeline network via CIG’s proposed 164-mile pipeline system called the High Plains Expansion Project.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, United States Department of Transportation, and the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission will have federal and state oversight of the project and its operations.
