Project Summary
Colorado Interstate Gas Company (CIG), a subsidiary of El Paso Corporation, is building the Raton Expansion Project to serve the increasing national demands for Rocky Mountain natural gas supplies. CIG will 1) construct an approximate 118 mile 16” diameter pipeline connecting Raton Basin supplies from Las Animas County, Colorado to a connection with its Front Range System in southern El Paso County, Colorado; 2) construct one new meter station and modify existing meter stations in the Raton Basin and at the Cheyenne Hub; and 3) undertake minor station piping modifications at two existing CIG compressor stations. No new compression facilities are proposed as part of this Project. The North Raton Lateral will be capable of transporting up to 130,000 million dekatherms per day (“Dth per day”) of natural gas from the Raton Basin to an interconnect with CIG’s mainline system in southern El Paso County, Colorado. This expansion will enable gas to be transported to CIG's mainline for ultimate delivery to the Cheyenne Hub in northern Colorado for delivery to major national markets. Some capacity is still available. Interested parties may contact their CIG Marketing Representative or Will Brown at 719-520-4250.
