At El Paso, we believe that education is the cornerstone upon which successful futures are built. The best investment in our future is an investment in supporting the academic goals of youth. The El Paso Corporate Foundation invests in the future of youth through a variety of educational programs. These programs focus on elementary and secondary students as well as those pursuing a degree in higher education. We sponsor and support the following:

El Paso Corporation Foundation Scholarship Program
Through this program, El Paso Corporation provides a number of college scholarships to qualifying children of full-time El Paso employees. Each El Paso Corporation Scholarship winner winner will receive a $8,000 scholarship, which is awarded annually in $2,000 increments for up to four years of college undergraduate study or until baccalaureate degree requirements are completed, whichever occurs first. The scholarships are renewable for four years, provided the student continues to meet scholarship requirements. National Merit Scholarship Corporation, an independent, not-for-profit organization that helps corporations identify and assist exceptional high school students, selects the scholarship recipients and administers the program. Junior Achievement
The Junior Achievement program helps educate students about the value of free enterprise, business, and economics while it inspires them to improve the quality of their lives. Through Junior Achievement, employees become role models to students in kindergarten through 12th grade, showing them how to achieve personal and professional success. Volunteers teach students one hour a week for five to 10 weeks. Junior Achievement and El Paso Corporation provide training, materials, and support. You can make a difference through Junior Achievement. By making a commitment to be a Junior Achievement consultant, you can have a positive impact on local schools, children, and our community.

Texas Scholars
Local school districts and the business community team up in the Texas Scholars/Recommended High School Program. The program motivates students to complete high school courses that will give them the academic foundation for future success. The program encourages students to take academically challenging courses that will better prepare them for the workforce, post-secondary training, or higher education. El Paso employees can get involved. Volunteers participate in one hour of training and one to two hours of actual presentation time at either Black Middle School or Jefferson Davis High School. KIPP
Since 2007, El Paso Corporation has been a proud supporter of KIPP, the Knowledge Is Power Program. KIPP was founded in 1994 to serve Houston’s underrepresented students. KIPP has grown into a nationwide movement of more than 82 schools. Through mentorship and science, technology, engineering, and math initiatives, El Paso helps KIPP develop the academic skill set, intellectual habits, and qualities of character necessary to succeed at all levels of pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, college, and the competitive world beyond.
