Dane E. Whitehead is senior vice president of Strategy and Enterprise Business Development for El Paso Corporation. In this role, Mr. Whitehead is responsible for strategy and market analysis, acquisitions and divestitures, planning, investor and media relations, and risk management.

Prior to assuming his current role, Mr. Whitehead was senior vice president and chief financial officer for El Paso Exploration and Production. In this role, he was responsible for Exploration & Production's financial, accounting, IT, risk management, land administration, and marketing functions.

Prior to joining El Paso, Mr. Whitehead had more than 13 years of tenure at Burlington Resources, Inc., which he joined in 1993 as Internal Audit manager. There he held various positions of increasing responsibility, most recently serving as vice president, controller, and chief accounting officer. Prior to Burlington, he was with Coopers & Lybrand.
