Sue Ortenstone

Sue Ortenstone is senior vice president and chief administrative officer for El Paso Corporation. In her current role, Ms. Ortenstone oversees all corporate Administrative Services functions, including Administrative Services, Communications and Community Relations, Human Resources, and Information Technology.

Previously, Ms. Ortenstone held positions as chief executive officer of Epic Energy, an El Paso joint venture. In her capacity with Epic, Ms. Ortenstone was responsible for El Paso Corporation’s joint venture Australian pipeline company. Prior to that, Ms. Ortenstone was responsible for El Paso Gas Services Company’s strategy, market analysis, and new business development in North America.

Ms. Ortenstone began her career with Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, where she held various pipeline positions. She transferred to Tenngasco Corporation, a new division of Tenneco Inc., and worked with the engineering construction group designing and building pipeline facilities. She was promoted to account executive with Tenneco Gas, was later named manager of gas supply, and eventually moved to strategic planning. She has held various management positions with the company since that time.

Ms. Ortenstone earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Wisconsin. She is a registered professional engineer.
