Kanda Lateral and Mainline Expansion

Wyoming Interstate Company, Ltd. (WIC) is planning to develop the Kanda Lateral and Mainline Expansion Project. This new natural gas transportation infrastructure will help meet the growing demand for this clean burning, reliable fuel.

The project has two components. The first is the Kanda Lateral Pipeline which would be comprised of approximately 124 miles of pipeline that will be 24-inches in diameter. This phase of the project would begin at a new pipeline interconnect located near the Natural Buttes Field in Uintah County, Utah. The pipeline would extend in a northerly direction through Daggett County, Utah and interconnect with WIC's existing mainline in Sweetwater County, Wyoming.  WIC will also construct several pipeline interconnects along the pipeline. The majority of the project will be sited on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands and WIC has worked with the BLM to finalize the route for the pipeline.

The second component of the Project is the Mainline Expansion.  As part of this expansion, WIC plans to install two compressor units within the existing Wamsutter Compressor Station which is owned and operated by Colorado Interstate Gas (CIG) and is located in Sweetwater County, Wyoming.

WIC filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in October 2006 seeking FERC authorization to construct and operate  these pipeline facilities. WIC expects to place project in service by late 2007.

WIC has been and will continue to be a good neighbor in these regions.  Continuing in that tradition, the company held public meetings to receive stakeholder and community input on the Kanda Lateral and Mainline Expansion project.
