Rocky Mountain Energy Needs

The planned High Plains Expansion Project will make additional natural gas available to CIG’s customers in the Rocky Mountain market and increase the amount of gas available for the company to provide to other customers via our existing pipeline systems. Based upon its location, the High Plains Expansion Project will help satisfy the demand for energy along the Front Range area of Colorado.

With a transportation capacity of approximately 899,000 dekatherms per day, the High Plains Expansion Project will enhance energy security for Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region by increasing the supply of natural gas to schools, hospitals, businesses, and homes throughout the communities of the Rocky Mountain region.

El Paso Corporation and its subsidiary, CIG, are committed to Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region and are continually assessing ways to best serve our customers and the marketplace. By increasing the natural gas transmission capabilities of the region, CIG will be in a position to better serve the region’s growing demand. Our commitment includes making significant capital expenditures for natural gas transmission facilities across our operating area.
