FERC Information

Colorado Interstate Gas anticipates commencing construction of its High Plains Expansion Project upon receipt of a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to be issued by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). CIG hopes to receive this authorization by December 2007, with a proposed in-service date in August 2008. To that end, CIG has completed the FERC’s pre-filing process for the High Plains Expansion Project, which addressed the environmental, landowner, and other stakeholder issues and impacts associated with the project. This pre-filing process included public outreach/scoping meetings held on November 28, 29 and 30, 2006, in Ault, Fort Morgan and Brighton, Colorado, respectively. Furthermore, CIG filed its certificate application seeking the FERC’s authorization on April 27, 2007. The FERC assigned a docket number of CP07-207-000 to this application.

Information on the project can be found at the FERC’s Web site at
Docket No. CP07-207-000.
