Key Data
El Paso Exploration & Production Company is one of the 10 largest independent natural gas producers in the United States and owns a substantial leasehold acreage in the U.S. We also have a presence internationally in Brazil and Egypt.
Our assets are divided among three major areas: Onshore; which includes our Western U.S., Central U.S., and Texas Gulf Coast assets; Gulf of Mexico/S. Louisiana; and International, which consists of Brazil and our emerging position in Egypt.
During 2007, daily equivalent natural gas production averaged approximately 792 MMcfe/d*. Most of our Onshore reserves and production are from long-lived, unconventional or low-risk conventional resources. We also have some exposure to higher-risk conventional assets in Texas Gulf Coast and the Gulf of Mexico. With last year’s discoveries, our International Division will provide our 2008 program with a mix of development and exploration projects.
We have a planned capital program of $1.7 billion for 2008, with a majority supporting low-risk development in the U.S. and Brazil. We will drill between 500 – 525 gross wells in 2008.
*not including 70 MMcfe/d from our equity investment in Four Star
