At El Paso, we believe that successfully executing our business strategies depends upon contributions from people with dramatically different experiences, backgrounds, education and perspectives. And diversity isn’t just a part of our culture at the individual level. Although El Paso Natural Gas Company was originally established in 1928, today’s El Paso Corporation is the product of various mergers and acquisitions, some as recent as 2001. The richness of our history and depth of our industry experience defines El Paso in ways that pipelines and drilling rigs cannot.

An important employee initiative is our LEAD Committee. LEAD stands for Leveraging Experiences and Differences. The committee is comprised of employees at all level. El Paso has four sub-teams working towards a culture of open-mindedness, respect and fairness that will embrace and leverage the diversity of our workforce.

  • Team El Paso – This team is the focal point for culture change at El Paso, providing avenues for employee involvement and reinforcing that teamwork is essential to our success.
  • Workforce Opportunities – The goal of this team is to attract and retain a workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
  • Community Ties & Involvement – The purpose of this team is to create a positive company image among employees and within communities where our employees live and work.
  • One Culture – As the name implies, the purpose of this team is to promote the El Paso culture through inclusion and respect of each employee’s business and cultural background.
