bu El Paso Soars to #8 in Houston Chronicle’s Top 100 List

El Paso’s 2006 financial performance was recognized by the Houston Chronicle as the company claimed the #8 spot in the list of Houston’s top 100 public companies.

Chronicle reporter Tom Fowler wrote that El Paso "saw its first 12-month profit in years. By moving into the black, El Paso saw its earnings per share jump by 188 percent for 2006, compared to the year before, and its revenue growth and total return both topped 27 percent.”

He went on to say that “the final validation of the turnaround came earlier this year, in March, when its pipelines returned to investment grade status for the first time since 2002.”
