Grant Application Process
Step One - Letter of Inquiry Submission
Organizations must be invited by El Paso Corporation Foundation
to submit a letter of inquiry for funding consideration.
Please note that unsolicited requests are not being considered at
this time. The letter of inquiry should be a maximum
of two pages and include the following information:

- Description and mission of organization
- Geographic area and groups being served
- Description of program for which funding is being sought, start
and end date, and expected outcome
- Grant amount requested from the Foundation
- Why El Paso Corporate Foundation should fund the request
- Percentage of organization's total revenues that come from United
Way
- Percentage of board members who contributed financially to the
organization in the last 12 months
- Organization contact name and email address
Please attach the following to the letter:
- Copy of U.S. Treasury letter certifying your 501(c)(3) tax-exempt
status or evidence of government agency status under Section 170(c)
- Committed funding support for this program
- Other requested funding support for this program
- List of board members with their professional affiliation
- Program budget
- Organization's total revenues and expenses for each of the last
three years and percentage of expenses spent on fundraising and
administrative costs (in summary form as follows):

Please do not submit additional materials beyond
those requested. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Step Two- Grant Application Submission
The two-page letter of inquiry will be reviewed by El Paso Corporate
Foundation within 45 days of receipt with regard to the Foundation's
guidelines and funding availability. If the Foundation has
further interest in your request, we will send
you a full grant application for completion (note that
an application may not be required for grant requests of $5,000
or below). The date by which the Foundation receives your organization's
completed application will dictate which funding timeline your request
will follow (see Step Three below for review cycles). Please note
that submitting an application does not guarantee the request will
be funded.
Step Three- Grant Application Review and Funding Decision
El Paso Corporate Foundation reviews formal grant applications
in three cycles per year. The application and supporting documentation
must be received by 5 p.m. Central Time at the Foundation's address
on the deadline date listed below. If the deadline date falls on
a weekend or holiday, the materials are due by 5 p.m. Central Time
on the first business day after the weekend or holiday. Please note
that in order to be fair to all applicants, there will be no exceptions
to these deadlines. Faxed applications will not be accepted.
