Making an Impact through Volunteerism
Through active participation in a variety of organizations and programs, El Paso volunteers help us impact global problems through local action. Through the STEP (Sharing Team El Paso) volunteer program, employees can help others through volunteer activities while increasing the company's presence in the community.
Our employees are involved with many organizations, including Junior Achievement, United Way, and Habitat for Humanity. While educational programs have been a core area of focus for many years, this focus is intensifying with our commitment to the Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP).

We are confident that our employees participated in as many initiatives in 2007 as in previous years however during 2007 coordination of volunteer activities was decentralized and volunteer hours were not tracked consistently throughout the company. The total for 2007 reflects hours documented by STEP staff in Houston. We are devoting resources to improve our system for tracking employee volunteerism and anticipate more accurate reporting for 2008.
