El Paso is a founding member of America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA), which represents 30 of
North America’s largest independent natural gas exploration and production companies and the
leading developers of the shale plays that are transforming the clean energy landscape. ANGA
was formed to raise awareness of the environmental, economic, and national security benefits of
American natural gas. As we make decisions about our energy future, ANGA works to inform and
engage the public and policymakers about the opportunities presented by greater use of this clean
energy resource — improving air quality, adding jobs to our economy, and enhancing our energy
security. Brent Smolik, president of El Paso E&P Company, is a member of
ANGA’s Board of Directors.
