For more than 75 years, El Paso has practiced the art of stewardship in our communities. We not only conduct our business in a socially and environmentally responsible manner, we multiply our impact with charitable dollars and volunteer hours. In 2007, El Paso contributed more than $5 million to many charitable causes. Our charitable community outreach program is robust and far-reaching – giving employees across the country a chance to make a positive impact in the cities and towns where they have roots.

Political Participation

El Paso is committed to being a responsible corporate citizen and believes that it is important to encourage the development of sound public policy. As a result, El Paso participates in the political process to promote public policies of long-term interest and importance to the company’s stakeholders, including our shareholders, our employees and the communities in which we operate.

This participation includes informing public officials about our businesses and the impact of public policy decisions on our operations, participating in industry trade associations to assist in developing industry-wide policy positions, and supporting candidates for public office. We have established a Political Action Committee (PAC) in which eligible employees of the company can participate if they choose. El Paso and the PAC make limited political contributions where permitted by law and in accordance with established guidelines. In 2007, El Paso contributed approximately $142,000 in state and local elections and the PAC contributed approximately $45,000 in federal, state and local elections.
